Our hotel in the Vaucluse is open all year. Except Sunday evening in winter (from October 15, 2018 to April 15, 2018).
The restaurant is open from Tuesday evening to Sunday noon in winter, and every day in summer.
The origin of the name Cabasse is Italian and means “the house under the village”
Which makes sense for us as the Domaine is located at the bottom of the village, while the vines spread between the village and the Domaine.
The roots of Domaine de Cabasse date back to the 14th century when the Popes lived in Avignon. Saint Quenin, the Patron Saint of Séguret, has most likely trodden our vines as, even at his time, our slopes were covered with vines.
The Domaine lays on thirty-three acres of vines which are divided between the appellations of Séguret and Sablet Côte du Rhône Villages A.O.C. and Gigondas A.O.C.
We’re growing these vines under “culture raisonnée”, respecting the rhythm of nature and taking close care with our team to meet the requirements of the plants. The local wind called Mistral is a precious help to fight some diseases, and it allows us to reduce to a strict minimum the use of external products.
Generous sun, sandy or heavier soil on steep and well-exposed slopes combine to bring to perfect ripeness each grape variety: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan,Clairette and Viognier in order to produce a high quality and healthy grape which is needed for the vinification of an exceptional wine.
